30 bags in 30 days
Challenge: Make a list of 30 places in your home that need to be decluttered and organized. Over the next month, tackle one spot per day. Throw out, give away, or repurpose. Your living space will thank you! Feel free to add or subtract days to fit your family's size or amount of clutter. I could easily do this two months in a row and not have a clutter-free home. But every little bit helps!
My list:
1. purse
2. clothes
3. shoes
4. under the bed
5. dresser drawers
6. bedroom junk drawer
7. refrigerator
8. pantry
9. freezer
10. computer desk/office
11. kitchen cabinets
12. kitchen utensils
13. dishes
14. cookbook cupboard
15. spice cupboard
16. pots and pans
17. makeup bag
18. jewelry
19. laundry room
20. bathroom closet
21. bathroom cabinets
22. bookshelf(bonus: return borrowed books)
23. garage shelves
24. garage floor
25. inside the car
26. magazines
27. entryway closet
28. movies
29. CDs/Music
30. linen closet
This is gonna be fun! You in?

I might do that too! Probably not 30 days, and I'd probably adjust it to fit my stuff, but cool nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful challenge! I already read about one similar that is 40 bags in 40 days but, when I made my list it was only 30 because our house just isn't that big and I had already started de-cluttering. But, your post gave me some uexpected encouragement to keep going. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI have always had a habit of doing one small section a day. I've done that for years. Saves having a big purge one day. Never thought of it as such before it was just a habit I fell into and constantly surprise others don't do
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea, I'm in! Although I have done most of these already as I've been (trying to!) purging my life of obsolete possessions as I live in a very small home anyway, but my boyfriend and I will be moving into my van in November and living in it over winter :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, I thought the minimalising situation was under control until I unpacked all my yarn (I am a knitwear designer) and discovered that the arts & crafts situation is quite out of control over here! What this tells me is that I need to get my knit on! :) Wish me luck!
Good luck with your great de-cluttering project. :)

@MrsOgg Right. I mostly hear about people doing 40 days. But like you, I just didn't have that many places, so I lowered it to 30. :) Glad it was an encouragement!
ReplyDelete@Samantha Excellent! That's great that you are already doing it. Keep it up!
@Katie Good luck minimalizing your project clutter! Craft and art supplies are always tough to simplify. Thank you, my Momma has decided to join me, so it ought to go well. :)
